Moonlight's Animalistic Influence
People have long believed that moonlight has an animalistic influence on people. The word "lunatic" in fact comes from the French word lune. One theory suggests that in a time before electricity it was easier to commit robbery and other crimes under the light of the full moon. Many people still believe that crime rises under the full-moon. However numerous studies have failed to prove a significant correlation between the full moon and crime, leaving this to be a possible myth unto itself.
